problemet er at det ville splitta ei allereie liten RO verden i 2; dei som spele på data med overlegen aim, og consollspelerar med håndkontroll eller move/eyetool/headtracking (høyres ut som mykje dyrt utstyr)

og antall spelarar som faktisk ville kjøpt dyrt utstyr eller spela eit spel som dette med håndkontroll trur eg ville vore minimalt, så consollversjonen ville døydd ganske raskt.

er vel så enkelt som at man kanskje skal prøve litt normal høflighet hvis man ønsker oppnå et minimum av respekt i en diskusjon :)

Hva er siste nytt angående spillet? Satt noen release-date? Hvor kan man kjøpe det på pre-order?

Slippdatoen er Q1 eller Q2 2011 og det skal dukke opp en stor beta i løpet av dette året.

SHOWTIME

To answer the questions lurking on the forums: yes, Tripwire will be attending a number of shows over the next couple of months, showing new material. The schedule looks like this:

16-22 August, Cologne - GDC Europe/Gamescom: some of the team will be flying over for this one. We’ll be showing Heroes on the 1C stand, as well as chatting about Rising Storm. There will also be material on The Ball – and another venture or two that we haven’t announced yet! The 1C booth is in Hall 4.2 - booth #18, Aisle B.

WOOHO blir en spennende august :)

Jeg er sikker på at Heroes of Stalingrad kommer til å være høydepunktet innen FPS i 2010. Om dere ser noen spennende nyheter fra Gamescom i år så legg dem inn her. Jeg starter med noen nyheter selv:

Snipers

When moving the rifle around and looking through the scope, which is a full on 3D deal and not just an overlay (meaning you can see stuff going on around the sides of the scope), you get an ocular shadow effect that is quite realistic (try peering through a telescope and moving it about and you’ll see what we mean. On top of that, since we’re talking realism, with the sniper rifle you have to adjust for distance and bullet drop as it travels its trajectory etc. That can now be done by aiming for your target and dialing in the distance. They’ve also got standard steel sites on the rifles so you can switch between that and the scope for close/long distance shots. Very cool stuff there. Also a real benefit as the sniper can then still be effective up close.

Artillery

Artillery now comes in varying shapes and sizes to help you better nail the opponents. You can have more confined damage via mortar bombardment or far larger damage with a rocket attack. How do you know where to aim that artillery when you can’t see the opponents? Call in a recon plane to have a have look around then pull out your binoculars and bring the rain.

While the terrain isn’t deformable, buildings can be bombed to a pile of rubble

Dynamic music

To give the game a more epic feel they’re using dynamic music based on the moral of your team. Each team, German and Russian, has their own music and it ranges from somber when you’re not doing so well to triumphant when you are.

Call of Duty og alle disse arkadeshooterne er noe ræl. Folk springer rundt som hodeløse høns uten noen form for taktikk og koordinasjon. Red Orchestra stiller derimot i en egen klasse.

Syns ikke RO er noe mer Realistisk enn f.eks MW2. Men man trenger kanskje mer taktikk, men her er det også tid til det siden spillet er såååå tregt :)

RO har vel også mindre plagsom GUI enn det mange andre FPS har. Det trekker opp litt. Er ikke fan av "floating names", radarer osv.
